About the Department
The Department of Statistics was started in the year 1957 as UG, PG in 1973 and research in 2000. In our college many self-financing programmes have included Statistics as an ancillary course. Hence Department of Statistics (Self-Financed) was set up for teaching Statistics at ancillary level only. Under this scheme six faculty members are working with the guidance of the parent department of Statistics (Aided).

To be the department of excellence through effective application of Statistical methods in analyzing Economic and Scientific data for upliftment and welfare of the society,To revamp the curriculum content giving more importance on practical applications,To make the students well versed in the use of available sophisticated Statistical Software packages,To make significant contribution in the area of data analytics and to mould the student into a true Statistician.
