About the Department
The PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore is one among the best institutions in India and is ranked 11th in NIRF ranking. The knowledge of basic science is essential for student to make the sustainable development and face the upcoming societal change. To impart the basic knowledge of science to young students community, the Department of Chemistry (U/A) started in the academic year 2018-2019. The key mission of our department is to motivate students to excel in chemical science at international level, which is necessary for chemists starting their own industries and contribute to our nation in future. The B.Sc. syllabus provides basic knowledge in chemical sciences covering all branches of chemistry and gives practical training to enrich their skills to build sustainable chemical technology for Energy, Health and Environment sectors. The department is well-equipped with staff members who are having international exposure and experience in advanced research to help the students achieving their long term goals.
